- Congrats to our bedtime books giveaway winners: Cathy M., Taylor C., and Alan B.! They each won a book of their choice from our bedtime books collection.
- Kirkus reviewed several forthcoming EBYR titles this week:
- A Well-Mannered Young Wolf, whose main character “has a wolfish streak, but he is also a gentleman,” and whose strict manners create a riddle for the reader to solve.
- Why Am I Here?, an “introspective book that will provoke reflection,” and one that “takes young readers seriously, respecting their innate sense of compassion.”
- A Dog Like Sam, which is “moving and memorable tale of love, forgiveness, and compassion among beings both human and canine.”
- The Catholic Courier also reviewed three EBYR titles this week:
- Our Father, which helpfully breaks down the Lord’s Prayer into smaller pieces for children to understand and pray
- Parachute, a “sweet story about facing childhood fears [that] is perfectly paired with whimsical and captivating illustrations.”
- One Big Family, a great book for encouraging read-alongs and also happy conversations about summer memories.

Thanks for sharing! I agree that “Parachute” handles a relatable fear well and the illustrations draw the reader in. I really want to read “Why Am I Here?” – a greater sense of compassion is needed in our world.
