“When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals — one on his right, the other on his left.”
— Luke 23:33 (NIV)
Materials:
- Paper plate
- Scissors
- Paper
- Tape/ glue
- Markers
- Brass fastener
Step 1: Color the paper plate on the convex (back) side. Make the top half of the interior circle into Jesus’ tomb.
Step 2: Cut around the edges of the top half of the interior circle.
Step 3: Fold the cut half of the interior circle up so that it stands up. It should look similar to a page in a pop up book.
Step 4: Cut out a bumpy circle shape out of gray paper (or white paper colored gray). Make sure that the shape is big enough to completely cover the tomb’s entrance. This will be the rock that sealed Jesus’ tomb.
Step 5: Push a brass fastener through the top of the boulder in the center. Then push the fastener through the paper plate right above the tomb. Make sure you attach the fastener high enough that the rock will lay flat and not bend. Flip the paper plate over, split the ends of the fastener, and press them down to secure.
Step 6: Cut out three crosses from a sheet of paper.
Step 7: Attach the crosses to the back of the tomb with tape or glue.
