Welcome back to EBYR All Over, a Friday roundup of all the EBYR-related news, reviews, interviews, and other interesting online content we can gather in a given week.

News from Eerdmans & Elsewhere

Julie Danielson (of the Seven Impossible Things Before Breakfast blog) wrote a full-length review of Red for Kirkus titled “Taking a Stand.” Danielson says “the beguiling artwork and pulsing heart at the story’s center provide much food-for-thought—not to mention an opportunity for children to put themselves into the shoes of the bystander of a cruel act, which surely happens on playgrounds more than adults would care to admit.”

  • Crazy, by Linda Vigen Phillips, has been selected to the shortlist for the Crystal Kite award by the SCBWI southeast region. We’ll keep you posted on this, hopefully with more excited news to come!
  • Travis Jonker posted about his cameo on Coffee Break in a “Books on Film” article on 100 Scope Notes. He said some nice things about what EBYR is up to on the internet, and he vastly underestimated his whistling skills. He also included the video, which, oh sure, we’ll just share here one more time:
