Welcome back to EBYR All Over, a Friday roundup of all the EBYR-related news, reviews, interviews, and other interesting online content we can gather in a given week.
News from Eerdmans & Elsewhere
-
Little Big Little Big by Jonathan Bentley was reviewed by Publishers Weekly. The review praises “the visual glories” of the book: “Bentley’s reverie is gorgeous to look at, with a playfully dramatic sense of contrasting scale that makes the boy’s yearning [to be big, of course] both funny and poignant.”
- Kid Lit Frenzy included The Amazing Age of John Roy Lynch in their “It’s Monday! What are you reading?” catch-up post.
- The Philadelphia Inquirer interviewed Jen Bryant, award-winning author of The Right Word and A River of Words. (They also ran a short bulletin about Jen and The Right Word‘s Sibert Medal last week.)
- The ALSC posted a video of Melissa Sweet, the illustrator of The Right Word, talking about her influences. (Thanks to @MrSchuReads for sharing!)
- Congrats to Diane R. and Beth W., the winners of our monastic books giveaway! You’ve each won a copy of Brother Hugo and the Bear, a recent favorite, and Brother Giovanni’s Little Reward, a brand new book (that’s sure to be a favorite, too)!
