On Saturday the Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List for 2016-2017 was released at the Texas Book Festival. We’re thrilled to announce that The Amazing Age of John Roy Lynch by Chris Barton and illustrated by Don Tate made the list!
The Texas Bluebonnet Award (TBA) reading program is considered one of the most prestigious children’s literature awards in the nation. Every year over one hundred thousand children in grades 3-6 vote on their favorite book from a list of 20 titles selected by the Texas Bluebonnet Award Committee.
Students, teachers, and librarians statewide eagerly await the yearly release of a new master list. The 2016-2017 Master List was officially announced at the Texas Book Festival by students from the central Texas area.

The winner is announced in February and the award presented at the Texas Library Association’s annual conference in the spring. This is the second year an EBYR book has been named to the Bluebonnet Master List. Last year The Right Word by Jen Bryant and illustrated by Melissa Sweet was a nominee.
