It’s Oscar week in the book world after the ALA Youth Media Award announcements Monday morning. We heard the winners of the Newbery and Caldecott Medals, as well as other less well known (but also prestigious) honors such as the Batchelder and the Coretta Scott King awards. This year was particularly exciting with a Newbery winner few people expected.
