News from EBYR & Elsewhere
- Congrats to Janet M., Karen S., and Wendy B., the winners of our May giveaway! They’ll each receive a copy of Ben and the Emancipation Proclamation signed by illustrator and Coretta Scott King medalist Floyd Cooper.
- Night Guard, the new collection of poems written by Synne Lea and illustrated by Stian Hole, earned a starred review from Booklist! “By turns enchanting, unsettling, and profound,” writes reviewer Briana Shemroske, “this nonlinear, free-verse meditation, first published in Norway, unfolds much a like a dream. . . . Unusual and thought-provoking for readers of all ages, this collection glows.”
- Jen Bryant and Melissa Sweet, the duo behind The Right Word and A River of Words, were featured in the Horn Book‘s “Teamwork” series that highlights the collaboration of author-illustrator teams. Look for it on pp. 20-21 of the magazine’s May/June edition.
