Hand Drawn Illustration Techniques for Children’s Books

By: Amanda Hall

Children’s book illustrator Amanda Hall shows viewers the second part of the creative process she used when she illustrated the children’s picture book The Fantastic Jungles of Henri Rousseau, written by Michelle Markel, published by Eerdmans Books for Young Readers.

This video – STORYBOARD TO BOOK DUMMY– shows how the professional process continues from Amanda’s initial storyboard until her finished roughs are ready to be made up into a book dummy to be sent to the publisher for their comments.
