Did you know that when you read with your children, you encourage imagination and the growth of fundamental reading skills that your children will carry with them the rest of their lives? In 1994 the month ofNovember should be dedicated to encouraging reading among families to showcase the importance of books. National Family Literacy month is geared towards encouraging families to spend time reading together. By reading books together, you are spending quality time together that will encourage a strong bond between those involved.
Spark Imagination in Young Readers
Imagination peaks when young readers are immersed in a book and their minds are taken over by the details painted in their minds. Brightly colored children’s books capture young minds and focus on simple storytelling, where the child can use their imagination to visualize the story as you read. Young readers are encouraged to read out loud, to better develop their reading comprehension and speaking abilities. Being read to also has great benefits, heightening the child’s listening abilities, and helping build their vocabulary.
Attention Span and Life Lessons
Reading together is a great way to practice building your children’s attention span. It is common for children to want to move, and wiggle about during story time, but over time discipline will likely improve this, asthey begin to imagine the story. There are so many valuable life lessons in books: children’s books can teach morals, shape values, and share representations that will prepare young readers to live thoughtful, engaged lives.
Start Reading Today
Today is the best day to start reading more books. If you already read, challenge yourself to read more booksoften and more widely. Expectanting families Mothers can start reading to their growing bellies and continue to read to newborns and toddlers. This will encourage young readers to pass along the hobbyactivity. There are so many magic things in books:, all you must do ithave to do is open one up!.
