Hidden City Wins Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award

Sarah Grace Tuttle’s debut book Hidden City: Poems of Urban Wildlife was been named the winner of the prestigious Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award for 2019.

Sarah Grace Tuttle’s debut book Hidden City: Poems of Urban Wildlife was been named the winner of the prestigious Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award for 2019.

“In this stunning debut, illustrated with extraordinary collage paintings, Tuttle explores where nature thrives in cities.”

Hopkins noted, “In this stunning debut, illustrated with extraordinary collage paintings, Tuttle explores where nature thrives in cities” helping readers “get to know a little bit more about fairy ring mushrooms, acorn moths, a bat breakfast, a sunflower buffet and twenty-four other creatures” that are hidden within our urban environments.

The Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award is awarded only once every three years and Tuttle’s book now joins a group of extraordinary accomplishments in poetry.
